Are you sure the step is .150 down? Bret told me his was .150" down on his, but I measured mine and it was .130" down so if its a comp one I would have it checked just to be safe. And what cam are you running?

For the PAC 1218 springs on LE2 heads and LE2.2 cam from early 2007, I was told by Lloyd Elliott to use an installed height of 1.750 to 1.760 for the 'springs to last' even though this is different from what comp has in the catalogue. Catalogue height is 1.800 as you have noted...

Depends on the lift too. Either way both springs should have no problems being installed at 1.800" But if your running a lower lift cam. Say around .600 to .620 lift you can install it around 1.750. I know for some people installing them at 1.800" doesn't give them enough seat load so they'll install them at 1.750"

I think I might have the springs compressor mixed up. The screw compressor I'm thinkin of is from Buxton Engineering. I'm not familiar with the KD one. You always want to use one that presses down on the retainer.

The lever type spring compressors work great on the front four cylinders, however, the back four (#5, 6, 7 & 8) under the F-Body windshield cowling you can't use the lever type.

The crane one works on all cylinders on the car, it does 2 springs at a time too.
