Valve Lash to tight??????

How will a car run with the valve lash is set to tight? Low Idle? Running real rough, like chugging? Does it feel like its got a bad miss? What the reccomend way to set valve lash on an LT-1?

If it is too tight the valve will be open a little all the time. Making it run rough. A 1/4 to 1/2 turn past zero lash is fine. How much did you turn it?

I dont know what its set at, the motor was built at an engine shop. I have been trying to tune this new motor for months. It has a Hot cam and other mods including pcm reprogramming. The car runs weak and seems to be "chugging" and slight back firing through the intake. I have gone through the whole ignition and so on and can't get the car to run right.

All the symptoms you listed in the first post could be from too tight lash.

Hey, I have been through your town. Did some rafting on the Arkansas up around Buena Vista. I love Colorado.
