Ok, for the second time my rockers have loosened and i have bent a pushrod. They are tightened down, and the valve covers are put on. I start the car, everything is fine. About a minute in, i hear a pinging. Most of the rockers are lossened, and one is almost always off. The one that came off, bends the push rod. Why is this happening? I guess they are not set right. Can i adjust them with the valve covers off? Should i?

 

Sounds like your not tightening the locknut enough.

 

each time something happens, i crank it down even further. they just keep lossening, isn't it bad if i crank them down to far?
