Valve Covers for AFR 210 heads
Valve Covers for AFR 210 heads
Ok so I've been doing a ton of reading on this but a lot of the threads with pictures are old and the links no longer work.
But I have a set of AFR 210 heads, it has both the center bolt and perimeter bolt holes. I installed a set of Comp Cams 1.6 roller rockers that I had on my stock heads (with stock valve covers) but the stock valve covers will not fit on the AFR heads with the same rockers / studs. It's really hard to see what it's hitting but it seems like the valve covers are just too short. If I were to push them down so they seat around the lip on the heads, they would be pressed really tightly against the rockers.
Has anyone else had this problem? Some have said stock VCs clear 1.6RR and I've read about others who had to get taller ones. But they were on different heads than mine.
I want to get a set of taller VCs, I was thinking the ProForm ones (PRO-141-131 from summit). I think these are the one someone used in the tutorial for grinding the alternator. Has anyone used these covers on these AFR heads? Were you able to get them to fit by just grinding the alternator or maybe denting the covers just a bit? If I get these center bolts, what do I use to fill the perimeter bolt holes in the head?
What are my options for using the perimeter bolts instead?
Thanks for your help.

There have been issues with stock valve covers not fitting on AFR heads. The problem is there is not enough clearance on the inside portion of the cutout for the valve cover. Especially around the 4 perimeter bolt holes.
Now it is also possible you have an additional clearance situation with your rockers arms and studs. I know that the GM tall valve covers will fit.
