Arrow Valve cover modifications for rockers...

OK, what needs to be done to make 1.6 Pro Mags fit underneath the stock valve covers?
I heard the pedestals need to be cut. Will cutting the top piece suffice or do you have to cut them out completely?
How about the breather box... any mods to that required?
Thanks!

I dont know too much, but I have read alot about people using a dremel to shave down the little beams on the inside of the valve covers. Thats all I know.......

Hard to explain.

The center supports are vertical when installed, expect for the base, which sits flush against the head. You need to make little cuts and bend out the flush part and make it vertical like the rest of the support. ( I guess you could call the flush part the "feet" of the support)

This will allow the supports to slide between the rocker arms.

No need to cut anything...they will leak if you do!!

Just bend the supports at the bottom of the valve cover. The supports just barely hit the side of the rocker so that small bend on the bottom support hits just a little. A pliars and 30 seconds of your time to bend the supports so they are flat is all it takes. Also don't modify the baffle inside the passenger side cover at all.

atljar,
here's a picture of what I think needs to be cut. (sorry about its crappyness by the way ) Is this what you're reffering to?

Brad,
are you talking about the same thing that's indicated to be cut on the picture?
Thanks!

nice pic ion!!!! lol

Yes thats what i am talking about, but dont cut all the way through. You are just cutting it enough to make the flush part easily bend and straighten to the rest of the support.

Thanks a lot man. That's exactly what I needed.
About the pic, yea... I must admit it's not one of my best works of art.

k...this is how i did it. I wouldnt mess with cutting everything out like that link i showed you.

http://home.cinci.rr.com/atljar/vcovr-mod4.jpg

Cut along the red lines (not al the way through, just flared portion) and bend out the L shape so its straight with rest of support.

You will get it (think you already did)

You don't have to do any grinding on the narrow body rockers, that is the point of the narrow body.
An air grinder with a cutting disc makes quick work of the supports.
