Vacuum problem regarding my brakes

Apparently I have a problem with my brakes because I don't have enough vacuum pressure because I installed a COMP CAM 306 in my 96 LT1. I have heard I need a booster for the brake booster. Can someone tell me what I need to do to help solve my problem?

Check for intake leaks first to see if that's why your vacuum is low.

We did check for leaks and there are no leaks.

I have exactly the same problem. If I am rolling in gear and slam the brakes they grab good, but if I am idling up to a light and slam them they suck bad. I also have the 306 and have checked for leaks. Is there any aftermarket vacum booster that people have had good luck with that is inexpensive?

Put a vacuum can on it. Ya won't be able to repeatedly hit the brakes at idle.If ya got 10in of vacuum and a can your breaks should worh fine.
I have done this on a pickup towing a 26' boat and no problems stoping.

That is exactly the problem I have. It works good going at hight speeds but at a stop light or sign it wants to pull and the brakes suck.

I have a 306 and don't have any problems. I have a MadZ28 tune and the idle stays up until your stopped and that keeps the vacuum built up.
