Question Vacuum Controlled 4L60E???

I was looking for a place to rebuild my trans and I stopped by this place where my friend got his trans rebuilt to see their prices. The guy quoted me $950 for the rebuild not including the torque converter. Then we started talking about what exactly would be going into the trans and he mentioned a new kit that is available for the 4L60E that would allow the line pressure to be controlled by a vacuum modulator(<-- not sure if that's what he called it). He said it would just hook up to the brake booster hose and is more accurate and quick to respond to pressure changes than the computer is. I have never heard anything about this and I was just wondering if anyone has heard of it or knows if it is a wise choice. Thanks in advance.

Do a search under the forced induction part of this site and you will find some guys are running vacuum Modulators on thier High HP 4l60 equipped. I know this has been discussed there before. Sorry I cant help anymore than that.

Really? Does that meen the pcm no longer controls the shifting? What all did you have to install? TV cable etc.
I'm still having problems with the high stall and shifting, even with Bryan's programming.

Exclamation

I was under the impression that it was only used to control the line pressure and that the shifts were still controlled by the computer...

Thanks I just reread the posts. I'm grasping at straws trying to figure out what I'm gonna do about this whole OBD1 high stall business.
