Well, I havn't got it on the computer yet since he loaned the computer to someone. He doesn't know when he'll get it back either. And I havn't got to use the Vaccutec yet either since it has been snowing and I have no way to get my car there since I have slicks....They came on the car.

Today I was out messin with it and I put a rag in the TB. It pluged both the blades and the hole where the IAC sucks the air in. When I did that it idled back to about 1000. I'm asumming my IAC is bad now. But why would pluggin the TB blades do much. I could feel that they were sucking really hard too. Is my TB bad? Or is that a sign of a vacuum leak?

Thanks
Chad

did you hold over the TB while the IAC was still in the TB? if yes then then yo ahve a MAJOR vac leak. if it is coming from the IAC replace it for sure.

when it's not sucking a ton of air and you cover up the TB it should kill the motor..

Just a warning. I HIGHLY recomend you NEVER use your hand to cover a TB. it can hurt and with enough force break fingers ect ect

Thanks man, you've saved me a lot of headaches!! And yes it does hurt quite a bit to use your hand to cover the TB. I think I will get a new IAC and probably pull my intake. But 1st I'm going to try and get it on the Vacutec to make sure it is the manifold leaking.

Thanks again

Chad

Happy to help out

if you want what you can do is shield the TB so not to get any in there and mist some carb cleaner around the area and watch for the RPM's to change and that will be your leak. i find it hard to belive that the intake would ahve a bad enough leak to not stall when you cover the TB.

I figured it out!!!!!
My car has an air foil that was on the car when I got it. It has about a 1/16" gap all around the air foil. When I put tape over all the gaps it idles about 850rpms!! But now I need to figure out how to fix it perminately.

Thanks to everyone who helped.
I REALLY appreciate it!!!! Camaroz28.com ROCKS!!!
