383
383
I've got a 96 T/A and I'm building a 383 with the hot cam and LT4 heads, just seeing if anyone has that setup, and with have you run in the 1/4 mile on just motor. Also if anyone has any tips or sugestions.
I'll let you know friday night. Well thats if I can fix my problem I just run into. I love the set-up. Evryone told me to go bigger but for a street / everyday car, I think its perfect. Even a lil to rauchy at times. Gonna run it for the first time friday night.
yeah i had the hotcam witht those heads and it ran really strong... keep in mind this is a street car that sees the track maybe 3 or 4 times a year, and I drive it everyday. Let me know how everything turns out.
MORE CAM!!!!
I have the hi lift XE cam from Comp (see sig) on a 114LSA and TQ IS EVERYWHERE!!!! If you are concerned about street manners, DITCH the HOT cam and go for the 224/230 XE cam in either low lift or hi lift versions. I would've gone to 230/236 but smog might have been an issue. So I played it safe and stayed on the 'small' side. I don't regret it one bit.
The HOT cam is a revver and makes its power at higher RPMS... if you want great street manners (i.e. more tq), go with an XE grind from Comp.
