vacum leak

vacum leak

i have a vac. leak on the drivers side of the intake manifold. it looks like a hose belongs there, but there is nothin. its like a little plastic thing in the shape of an f. anyone know were this goes, or should i just plug it up. i can get pics if i have to.

just plug it and if you throw a code then find out what it goes to .. if not look in a book... to see what it is.. even on you r radiator suport they show you where all teh vacum goes.. like a diagram

Look at the pictures on Shoebox's Tech Pages. He has photos of all the connections to the intake. Might help you figure out what's missing on yours. There is also a vacuum hose routing diagram on the radiator cover that will help you figure it out.

The drivers side has vacuum connections for the EGR system and the Opti vent system, plus the brake booster.

Shoebox's pics are of a 95, and your 97 will be a little different. I think there was a recall that added a vacuum component for the AIR system. Shoebox has the parts drawing for the recall as well.
