v6 springs

I know this belongs on the suspension forum but I wasnt getting any replys and i kinda needed a quick opinion. I have heard that the springs out of a v6 camaro are acually better for traction then the ones out of a z28, and seeing as how i can get a set for pretty much free i was wondering if it would be worth it. Anyone??

Re: v6 springs

I run v6 springs on my 91 w/ LT1, I love it, Dips and pot holes suck because the springs are so soft, but the front end rises like no other. Great for the 1/4, sucks for everything else, but my idea of ride comfort is far from everyone elses, I drove my car with just the drivers seat, no carpet and the transmission tunnel wide open (no center console or transmission boot) for 2 months before I put it back in.

Re: v6 springs

Sure, i'd rather go with drag springs, but you will have an improvement in traction running v6 springs.

Re: v6 springs

I'd also like to hear more opinions on this.

Also, do the V6 springs make a Z28 sit any lower since the springs are softer, and the car is heavier?

Yes, if you look at the picture of my car in the bottom of my sig, you can see the rake it has going, the front sits about 3" lower than the back. I like the way it looks, the front lifts up bad *** when I gun it.

Re: v6 springs

Rear and front. The car was originally a v6 and I threw a lt1 in it. Thats a v6 rear and v6 front. I imagine the rear springs are the same on a v8.

Re: v6 springs

The rear springs on a v8 are stiffer then the v6 springs. I guess the idea behind it is that because the v6 springs are softer, on the launch the rear end gets planted better.
