396ci questions

This summer I am going to begin building my 396, I have had a few questions so if anyone could answer a few that would be great. Thanks

Is there any good stroker books out there? LT1 specific

Am i going to have a problem b/c im still speed density?(1993)

use my existing block 70k miles or get another one.

2 bolt or 4 bolt main

what style pistons?

any other help would be great, this is my first time doing this and my research is still at the minimum, If anyone has any info on build ups or 396s in general. I basically want to run low 11's N/A so this motor would have 2 be reliable b/c its a daily driver in the summer, and will only be taken to the track no more than 3x a month during the summer. thanks again

Re: 396ci questions

pistons would depend on what you wanna do with the motor...and what comp. ratio you would want to run. if you are going to be boosted, forged is the way to go...

4 Bolt mains (crank walk would suck on a motor you are going to put all this $ in to)
*edit* that's not to say 4 bolt mains will eliminate it...but they will lessen the chances of it occuring hopefully...

shouldn't have a problem with speed density...that's sorta unrelated to cubes

the block should be fine, just have it thoroughly cleaned and inspected by your builder.

not an expert by any means...but hopefully that helps.
