v6 fbody rear springs on LT1?

hey ive heard that if you put v6 springs on the rear of an LT1 or LS1 it will help out with your launch. are they softer? i cut consistent 2.37 60's my first time at the track with my 6 speed and am looking for cheap suspension mods to help out some. will these help any? how do they affect normal ride? will springs from say a 99 V6 work on a 95 LT1? im also removing my front swaybar here in the next few days. thanks guys!

Nick

I can't say how big of a difference they make, but I have heard its a good deal. I had a V6 car originally I swapped an LT1 into so I had the V6 rear springs stock and just left them. I actually hook pretty well.

They are reasonable softer and will help a lot with weight transfer.

And yes, the 99 V6 rear springs will fit fine. All 4th gen suspension is universal besides k-member. i.e a LCA off a 2002 SS will fit on a 93 V6, etc.

i have v6 springs on my LT1 and i can say that it does help you alot more with tracktion i run better 60 foots then i did before. the coils are spred out more to alow the car to sqaught more and grip more, if you do this you will be able to tell a difference.

What about the ride quality, plus how does the back sit, does it sag at all. Also did you buy them new or used, what kind of price do they go for?

thanks--I'll have to pick me up a pair since they're so cheap, its got to help especially if you remove the front swaybar. Just wish I would have thought about getting some before I changed rear ends--still its pretty easy. Not sure how they compare to aftermarket drag race springs, but they are a hella of alot cheaper, plus I think the aftermarket ones need to be bought with the fronts-not sold seperetly
