Usless ABS box, remove? convert? Cuss?
Usless ABS box, remove? convert? Cuss?
Well my recent brake line problem, has led me to yet another problem...
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...hreadid=159834
They don't sell pre-bent lines for the front and the only place to get them is a tubing place at the cost of 150.00. I tried to get the lines off of the ABS box and two of the damned things rounded off where they go in! And that was with a line wrench!
So I had to remove my ABS box so I can take it to a shop or my vice,
to get them off. But here is my problem. I DONT USE THE ABS BOX AT ALL. I did a moter swap to an older SBC so my ABS box is just basically a big distro block for my brake juice to travel through. It would be alot cheaper to just have a distro block made or buy one and convert the lines to a smaller/bigger size. I was going to do the rear drum swap anyway. So my choices are
#1 Pay for lines to be duplicated, and keep ABS box that doesn't even work, and pay like 200$ for both lines.
#2 Buy/make old style (non abs) distro box and re-plumb lines in a much much simpler way, cost is about 50$
What to do? what to do?

What to do? what to do?
Ok two things. First you can take the abs box out and run the lines to the master cylinder, I have done it, and it works great. That would be your easiest fix, check with Brady96z he has done it as well.
Second, who cares about custom fit lines. Go buy a few lengths of tubing, get a bender, make your bends and flare the end with a flaring tool, and your done. Think outside the box my friend, you can do it.
