using ram air hood as intake cooler?
using ram air hood as intake cooler?
Just an idea, but....
RAM Air hoods (like the one on the camaro SS) don't generally do anything for performance, from what I understand. However, one problem I know LT1's have is the intake manifold becoming WAY too damn hot (water steaming off the intake etc). So, I wonder if there'd be a way to adapt the RAM air hood to act as a sort of intake ventilation/cooling system? Has anyone tried this, or know of someone who has? This is not necessarily for a huge performance gain, but if you've got a SS, and a cold air intake system already in place, you've basically just got a hole in your hood... Anyway, just a thought, since i know LT1 intakes get hot as hell - anyone have opinions?
