Using 918 Beehives, What other parts needed?
I'm getting all the parts collected for my XE 224/230 cam swap. I'm going to use the 918 springs with it. I've been trying to do some research on what i need to go with the springs. This is what i have come up with.
retainers- 787-16
locks 648-16
seats 4705-16
Does that list look correct and are there any other parts I am missing?

Here is some additional info:
Parts needed to install Comp 26918 beehive springs on a stock
aluminum head LT1 (for iron heads just omit the spring seat).
7 degree hardware with 4705-16 spring seats (1.73" installed
height):
787-16 retainers
648-16 locks
10 degree hardware with 4705-16 spring seats:
795-16 steel retainers, or
794-16 titanium retainers
611-16 locks (standard), 1.70" installed height, or
614-16 locks (+.050), 1.75" installed height
For either installation you will need spring seats:
4705-16 spring seats, .062" thick

Great info! If money is not a big deal,what is the best components for 26918?
I choosed spring seats
then what else? 10 degree or 7 degree hardware?

can use the stock or LT4 spring seats and the 7* hardware. I personally do
not like the way the 26918s sit on the stock/LT4 spring seat.
Factory installed height is 1.78" which is ideal for stock heads and the
overall geometry. With 7* hardware and stock/LT4 seats the installed
height should be around 1.77". The springs are designed to be installed
at 1.80" and if you consider the closed pressure you will want to be in
the 1.75" to 1.78" installed height range. See my last post for installed
heights with the 4705-16 spring seats.
I used the 10* hardware (including +.050 super locks) and the 4705-16
seats to get the maximum installed height, which is about 1.75". That's
what I would do if I were you. It's your call in the end, and if money is
not an issue, go with the titanium retainers.

thanks for all the help truedualws6. I just ordered all the parts. i decided to go with the 10* hardware with the install height of 1.75". Now I can't wait to get it all in the car this fall.

trial fitting can be put to good use by others. The 10* setup is working great
for me and I hope the 26918s have a long useful life. It would be nice if
someone made a .035" spring seat for this setup. That would allow the use
of 7* hardware and a 1.77" installed height. I think the 7* hardware is a tad
lighter than the 10*.

Also my valves are 0.50 longer ,so what lock should I use? and what height should be the springs? 1.80?

As far as I know, you are correct regarding the titanium in 10* only for LT1s.
And yes, the 10* titanium is lighter than the 7* steel. With .050" more to
work with in valve length you just add .050" to the height. If you want 1.75"
installed height you can use the 611-16 locks. If you want 1.80" you use
the 614-16 locks.

Oh and one more thing: If you look at the link (very usefull) if I go with 1.750" height the close pressure will be 146lbs and it will be much safer tha 130lbs.. (My camshaft is 237/245dur. 584 lift)
