I am looking to buy some comp pro mag 1.6s and have found several good deals on some used ones. My question is is that wouldn't it be a risk to have used parts in my valvetrain? I found some with supposedly only about 300 miles on them but there really is no way to tell is there? Is it worth taking the risk and saving some cash or just buy all new parts? Do rockers really wear out like springs do? I think I will definitely buy NEW springs to go along with them though.

 

I dont think you have anything to worry about. They are pretty simple parts that are constanty lubricated so they cant wear out.
