used cam question

used cam question

i was wondering about putting a used cam in my car is that smart, will i have to change out the lifters i was told i can reuse my lifters in the car now this used cam has about 50k and no hot spots nor any bends or any damages on it should i just buy new cam kit

It shouldn't be a problem as long as the cam is in good shape. Matching lifters to cam lobes is not required on roller cams.

Whats the price difference? I'd go new for the piece of mind factor.Honestly whats the difference in price? Is it worth it.

I bought a used cam but it only had about 1500 mile on it. I couldn't beat the deal it was more than a $100 savings shipped to me.

I wouldn't really suggest using a used cam at all. Camshafts aren't that expensive, a new one will go for what, $250 for an off the shelf Comp? It's just not worth the risk when you're talking about a $150 at most in savings...
