URGENT will 95 a4 work in 97

I am selling my tranny to a buddy of mine and just want to make sure I wont encounter any problems when putting my a4 from my 95 in to his 97 I am sure I wont but felt like double checking.

There aren't any differences that I'm aware of.

Not sur 100% sure if they will be fine or not as I know you are going from an OBDI car to an OBDII so not sure if that plays a role in the tranny connections/signals.

I know I have a 94 PCM/Wiring harness with a 97 engine block and a 97 transmission and the only difference I had was the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) connection.

I am sure one of the resident gurus will chime in with an exact answer.

you'll need to use the whole engine. you'll have to swap the whole timing and cam if you want to keep it a 97 style...the cam is different, and the timing cover.

other than that, you can use all parts from the 97 if you want OBD2, or you can run a 95 and older knock module if you want OBD1...with the 95 PCM. wire harness should be identical unless you had TC vs non-TC

I think he is talking about the transmission.
