Urgent Stock Computer&comp Cam

I just got the Crane CC05 Cam and Headers with some other bult ons and needed to know if the car will run with the stock computer?
And if it will run, will it hurt anything to drive it like that? All advice is welcomed.

i have a cc304, no tuning. the cam sucks by the way. The car runs fine, but if th eweather is cold, it wont start unless i give it some gas. And even then, it will run very rough, sounds ugly, until it warms up. I can imagine a cc305 being even worse, but probaly ok during the summer.

It will run. It wont hurt anything. It takes a little while for the computer to "learn" what is goin on. You will notice that the computer will make adjustments and run better after a few days. If you want it to run better just send the PCM out to get tuned. Best results will come from a dyno tune.

I forgot his exact username, but it is something like '97bowtie

He ran the CC305 with headers for a long time with the stock tune. Ran good times too.

A tune is the best way to go though.

On an old car would you swap cams and then not rejet the carb or reset the timing?
Well that is exactly what not reprogramming the computer is, if you aren't going to retune it don't bother swapping the cam.
Due to some laptop troubles I had to run on a stock tune(Caprice) with a ZZ3 cam, now yes the Caprice tune is setup for a smaller than f-body cam, but the ZZ3 cam is also much smaller than what you are looking at. It ran and drove OK but there was a lot of knock retard and it felt better overall with the stock cam, once I got the other issues fixed and the new tune it it was all better.
