upgrading to 1.6 RR

I want to get 1.6 pro mag NSA comps, can I run them with stock springs.I heard at high RPMs they might coil bind I have my rev limiter at 6000 is this going to work?

Stock springs are marginal to begin with. You should get some good springs that will, at the very minimum, accommodate the increase lift of the 1.6s and optimally be capable of supporting whatever aftermarket cam profile you might install in the future.JMHO

if you are running a stock cam I would just throw a set of LT4 valve springs on. You can get them from gm parts direct for like 30 bucks

I wouldn't chance it with the springs, as mentioned above, run the LT4 springs at least and they won't set you back a ton of money.

If you aren,t putting in aftermarket cam go w/sa rockers and the lt4 springs.BTW I set my rev limiter@6200 and my shift points approx.300 rpm higher and bought Comp cams#1418-16.

How difficult is it to change the rockers and springs? Does it matter if the engine is completely stock & has ~ 100K miles?

Jason or Dal from Shoebox's site might ship to Canada.
