Update on Exhaust Manifold Leak.
I just went and picked up my car. I no longer hear the exhaust leak and it also seems to have gained some power.
While i was there, i talked to the mechanic about the broken bolt from the manifold thats now in the head. He showed me which one it was on a motor he had in his shop. It is the very last bolt on the passenger side.
He told me that if i where to get aftermarket headers, that the bolt that is broken doesnt get used anyways.. ?!? Is this true? He said that if i went that route, i wouldnt need the head pulled to get that bolt out.
And my other question has to do with something totally different. My car is an A4 and I have noticed that it is almost impossible to get the RPMs over about 3k with it in D. If rolling at 30-40mph it doesnt jump, it just gradually accelerates at a decent rate.
However, if i manually shift it, it the power is all there and i have no problem getting to 4500 rpm in a hurry.
Why is it so tame while in D?
