NO NO, the sensors are not supplied with votage. They are actually like tiny generators if you want to look at it that way. They generate pulses everytime a tooth on the reluctor comes near the sensor.

If you measured the correct resistance at the EBCM and did not see a short to ground or 12 volts. The problem has to be the EBCM. Swap out one from someones elses car. But DO NOT put 12 volts on the sensor line. You will burn up the sensor and if the EBCM is plugged in, you will kill that too.

I have the old one from car that has a right ABS motor problem. You can try it but I don't know if it has the same pin configuration. I'll check my 94 book and 96 book to see if they are the same.

Ok, sounds like we are narrowing it down to the module. I have searched shoebox's sight and gmpartsdirect (i hate that sight for searching if you dont already have the part #) does anybody have the part # for that brake control module.
Thanks
Bill

Try anothers first before you buy one and then if it's bad, get one at a JY like I did. Dealer cost is over $600.00.

Holy crap, just saw the prices on gmpartsdirect. 860 from the dealership, 480 or so on gmparts. Thats just CRAZY! Im going to talk to the dealership tomorrow, do you think they will be able to test out my module if i bring it to them? Thats all im asking them for, definetly not going to buy one from them. Just curious if they have a way to test the module itself.
Thanks again
Bill

Unfortunately there is no test for the BCM. Individual circuit testing will determine if it is defective. Let me check if the 94 module I have will work for you. I'll let you know in a few.

No the 94 EBCM I have has a different pin configuration then the 96. Find someone with a 96 or 97 and swap them out with them to test it. Be sure they don't have traction control.

If you need one, go to a JY. I got mine 2 years ago for $25.00 at US258 Auto parts.

While on the topics of removing the bcm, that thing was a pain to remove. The book say simply take out the bolt, but the way the nut is up there holding it in, you have to use a deep well socket, a 5 inch extension, then back it out very slowly, because the ratchet is on an angle to get around the brake pedal, then when it came out, the deep well socket was jammed between the nut and the top of the brake pedal, and i had to pry it out with a screwdriver. It's like 20 min for a 30 second job. Im not sure how hard its going to be to get all the way back in there either, looks like it might try to give me troubles. Also, i am the only one in poquoson that has an LT1. Where exactly was this US place that you went to, i guess ill give them a call tomorrow, maybe go up by Ross's too.
Thanks
Bill
