unplugged maf...

one time i unplugged the MAF on my 95 TA, and it abruptly stalled. I've been reading posts on here and they all say that the car should run with it unplugged? i tried a search a few times but it wouldnt go through. What does it mean if the car stalls when the MAF is unplugged? Thanks,
James

you need to have it unplugged first. i was told that is normal for the engine to stall

Maf

the MAF is supposed to do that...it controls your fuel to air ratio....if or when it gets unplugged the computer goes into default air intake and it guessed on how much air is coming in and it makes the car run way too rich and it dies out...nothings wrong its doing what is suppposed to

The car will run just fine with the MAF unplugged. It will use the MAP sensor and go into Speed-Denisty mode. I've driven mine 15 miles before realizing the MAF was unplugged. Mine also stalls if you unplug it when it's running, but if you re-start it, it runs fine.

All cars have maps for SD mode, when you tune LT1 cars they are tuned in SD but if you unplug while running it can compensate.
