Talking Unbelievable! LT1 owners inside.

For the past 3 years I had a defectice LT1 starter in my car (ACDelco). It was sold to me by some shady parts store w/o a box. Everytime it started it would grind, squeak, and continue to squeak when the car was driving(like a loose belt). Turned out it had missing bushings in the end. Such an embarassment when I started it in front of people! Finally, I said thats enough! Just replaced w/ a brand new LT4 starter!! What a difference! It is a PERFECT fit, starts up TWICE as fast, is small, lighter, and is SO quiet, it's sounds like a LEXUS. There is NO reason why anyone should replace their starter with anything else! The BEST part about this is it only was $144 vs. the $205 I paid for the JUNK LT1 starter!

The part number is GM #10455709

If you have to replace your starter or want something 50x better get it! In case you can't tell I'm happy!!!

I want to replace mine in the winter with an LT4. So it bolted right up no shims or anything else but plug and play?

If my car sounded like a Lexus, I'd take it out back and shoot it.

Yes. I took the JUNK off and cleaned the sealing area really good with a degreaser, as well as the stock bolts. NO, shims and NO fitting problems at all. Bolted it in snuggly, finished in 15min because the exhuast was already off!

Smile

Thanks for the comment on patience. I do not drive the car a lot, but when I did it made by blood boil knowing I paid $205 for this stress. If you guys could have heard this POS, and then hear an LT4, it's an incredible difference.

One more thing, a lot of aftermarkets have this crap where they have like 6 different mounting postions and are universal. You don't need that. This one only has two, and will work with any long tubes. The reason this one fits so well is that the LT1 and LT4 block mounting points are the same.

Thats good to know its plug and play. I'll be getting mine in a few months when I get new O2s as preventative maintenence. Starter access is so easy with LTs.
