How can you tell if a water pump is going? And how can you tell if the thermostat is closed?

 

Typically when your waterpump begins to go you will notice antifreeze leaking from the weep hole located on the bottom of the waterpump. When your thermostat is stuck closed your car will begin to run extremely hot and possibly overheat.

 

Well I took out the stat and put it in boiling hot water and it didnt open up so i boiled it to 240 degrees + and it still didnt open up so right now for a temp solution I have the stat out an ill tell ya the car runs way cooler that before... The temp stays in between 175 to 195 degrees and the car runs great. im gonna get a Hypertech stat very soon but right now i need a car...
