Ultimate castings for LE2 portwork

I asked this in another thread, but did not get the clear answer.
What are the best aluminium heads to get ported by Lloyd Elliot? I know it is not the thin wall 561s. Is it 374s or 643s?

561s, 374s, or 643s? I'm guessing this refers to LT1, LT4, etc.. Please clarify. What about trickflows? Would they be better for porting?

Thanks

Yea, they are refering to the most preferable (for all out port work) factory LT1 Castings......the aftermarket trickflows, as well as AFR heads have slightly even more potential when all out portwork is conserned.....PS:..you should have the most desirable factory LT1 casting 10207643 heads like I have on my 95 vette

Some say the trickflows aren't worth the money considering the stock casting can come close to them. So why spend the money? If you have deep pockets or a high goals you should think about AFR's. Lloyd or AI can work wonders with a set of 210,220's.

Only problem with AFRs is wait time. I ordered a set of 210s a couple of years ago and it took nearly 6 months to get them. Changed my plans, sold them and just had Lloyd port my stock castings.

stock the 561's are the better flowing heads with no work. Most of the porters like LE seem to want the 643's for porting an all out head from a stock casting. The AFR's and TFS heads have more potential as far as porting and also have thicker deck for bigger chambers. Some people go that route (myself included) because a stock casting will not allow you to run a domed piston and higher compression while retaining big chamber. The AFR's are impossible to get and just not worth the wait so the TFS heads have become the aftermarket head of choice by default. Personally I think they are a better / nicer head anyway.
