ugh! my brake lights only work "ocasionally"

Just discovered that my brake lights don't always work when I press the brake pedal. Why would they sometimes come on and sometimes not...I know nothing about wiring....any ideas why this would happen and where to start looking for the problem?

You probably have a few bad bulb sockets. My '93 had the same problem. I removed the tail lights and messed with the wires to the sockets, they flickered and started to work. I replaced all the tail light sockets and that cured the problem.

Might be your brake pedal switch. step on the pedal lightly like normal braking and see if they come on ..if not then stand on it hard if they light then then chances are it might be the switch. wich is located under the dash on your brake pedal. goodluck
