u-joint?

could my u-joints going out lower my trap speed at the track. it started out not to bad and got slower and slower as the day went on and the u-joints start to have more vibration as the day went on also. by the end of the day there was a lot of vibration. i am going to change them but was just wondering if that could have been what was causing me to get slower.

Vibration could be causing the knock sensor to retard the timing. If the u-joints are that bad they are unsafe. Please replace them. Mine crack after about 300 passes to I change them every year.

my computer was tuned by madz28 and since i am using 1.6 roller rockers he desensitized the knock sensors. would that mean that it is just like not having a knock sensor of just that the 1.6 rockers would cause it to pull timing. because if it is like i have no knock sensor at all then would that vibration still cause me to go slower?

it vibrates all of the time. the shifter is just going nuts at all speeds. and the tranny mount is fine it is a brand new poly mount.
