I have a 95 Z28 and I am looking to see what type of cam I should get. I have the K&N FIPKit and will be putting on long tubes at the same time as the cam install. I have heard of the GM 847, but can't find it any where to buy. So what have some of you guys used and which is the best?

 

The GM 847 will make power but will be a bugger if you have an auto with the stock converter. If youre an auto I'd go with something quite a bit tamer. The CC305 and XE 224/230, and GMPP hot cam are nice cams for mildly modded cars.

Some people like the 218/224/XE cam , but I have no experience with it.

 

Hotcam is a great choice. I think the GM847 is a bit big also. The HC is 218/228, not to mention everyone got the programming down on that. Never heard anything bad about them except sometimes guys wish they went a lil bigger. It really depends on what your using the car for and what you wanna do with it.

 

I have a six speed, but everyone that I have talked to, said that the hot cam is to mild and that it won't give you too much gain!
