Question Two batteries in 1 year....bad alternator?

This is the second time this year my battery has been dead and I can't start my car. Would this mean my alternator is bad?

Do you have underdrive pulleys? Sometimes you'll get charging problems if you only have the crank pulley. If you don't think this is the problem then take your car or altenator to a parts store and have them check it out.

I have no idea what the pulleys are....so I don't even know the answer to this question. I learn everything the hard way, if it breaks, I fix it, and then I know about it from then on.

(Believe me, I've learned a lot with this car!!!!)

Well, I have an underdrive pulley, and now that I have it, I kinda wish I didn't. If I don't drive my car @ least an hour or so per day, it won't stay properly charged. If I leave the car for over 4 days or so, it's dead. I had a brand new battery installed about 7 monthes ago, and had my alt. tested, everything was fine.

you might wanna check the positive electrical post next to the battery, hopefully it's just a loose connection. i attached a power wire for an amp, and apparently when i put it back the nut wasn't tight enough. if you live near a Sears, they can probably test it for free and tell you whether it's the battery or the charging system.

make sure that your battery is secured well....just grab the sides and wiggle it....these cars are known for broken battery mounts. My was broken and didn't realize it....it definitely led to the early bow out of my battery. Excess vibration and rattling ruins the plates.
