Question Tunnel cross brace?

Its not the transmission crossmember, I think its called a Tunnel cross brace? Heres what it looks like::

My question is, Do I need this piece put on?? Because it doesnt exactly fit with the ney y pipe..heh thanks!

no you don't need it.
I took mine out on my vert because the exhaust was hitting on it.

It's called the g-load brace and there are aftermarket ones available that'll clear most exhausts. I have a BMR with a built-in driveshaft safety loop.

My hooker Y-pipe came with spacers to drop taht bracket down. I had to buy my own bolts though. It was basically lil round steel spacers. Like a stack of washer about an inch tall, but in one solid peice.
