I had to remove the black tunnel brace (is that what its called) thing on my car to get my exhaust to fit (Long tubes). It was held on with four bolts... was just wondering as to what it's purpose was? (I'm guessing to keep you from doing a DS catapult?) And if I should get a DS loop because I took that piece out (Maybe one mounted on a torque arm?)

 

You can get a spohn adj. tq arm and it will replace not only that piece, but it will allow clearance for LT exhaust and you can get one with a DS loop on it.

 

That's what im going to end up with here soon. But what was the purple of that piece?

 

Just to add a little bit of strength in the unibody. I ran mine off for almost a year since my exhaust didnt clear it.

 

Good to know then, I just wont worry about it

 

When I bought my hooker ORP, it came with 4 spacers to make it clear. I still had to end up cutting the tunnel brace a little to make it fit though.
