tuning software

hey im getting a cable for my car to hook up to pcm and also i just bought a cheap tuning laptop.
just wondering what software people use for diagnostics and tuning or anything cool i could use.
could i run a program and drive the car around and it can log different aspects of the engine and other useful info.

Tunercat is one of them. It's cheap, and allows you to work on an unlimited numbers of cars.

An alternative would be lt1_edit (which is more expensive and locked on one car, but which doesn't do anything that Tunercat can't.... well, besides adjusting the shift points automatically with a gear change on A4 cars)
www.carputing.com

There is free logging software available, but I would personally recommend TTS Datamaster.
It's $100 from www.akmcables.com but it's the best logging software out there, in my opinion.
