tuning info - please help ASAP
tuning info - please help ASAP
ok so i just ordered a tune from PCMforless and the order sheet went into a lot more detail than i expected. i'm still extremely new to this, and some of these terms confuse me, as well as i just dont know what my car has stock. please help me with these questions...
VIN #? haha just kidding i know that much
rear gears: for stock auto 97.
torque converter: don't know what that means.
shift firmness: i want the firmer shift points?
remove speed limiter: yes or no?
rev limiter: should i select "tuners choice (recommended)"?
skip shift removed: no because i have auto?
Vehical anti theft VATS: remove?
throttle body size: for stock auto 97
EGR: remove? i have mac mids and want to keep emissions
[B]AIR?:/B] remove?
other trouble codes:

For the intake, cam and compression, just put "stock", or you can find the info here:

For the rear gears, check your RPO codes:
GU2 = 2.73
GU5 = 3.23
As for the torque converter, they are asking if you put in a aftermarket higher stall converter, which you did not, so leave it as stock.
The shift firmness is a nice feature to have done, I had it done on my car. The shifts will be alot harder and not as mushy feeling(best way I can describe it)
Having the speed limiter removed is up to you, it was one of the features that was done to mine through my mail-order tune.
Rev-limiter I left at "tuners choice" as well.
Skip-shift you don't need to worry about for obvious reasons.
EGR I would leave alone if you don't plan to hack off the emissions equipment.
I would also let them know that you have a 160 degree thermostat going in the car.
