Ive got MSD 8.5 mm wires and NGK iridium spark plugs and they work fine. No problems here.

Do you want to save money or do you want the best money can buy?

NGK-TR55's are the best plugs to get. As far as wires are concerned there are many options available. You could get a set from elite spark plugs, www.elitesparkplugs.com. They make many replacement sets with heatshielding built in as well. Lots of people like them. Or you could go with Moroso. I just put some on my car and they work great. Look good too! I was going with the Taylors at first but then I read many mixed reviews so i decided to go Moroso. Search for Taylors see what you get. MSD's are good too, pricey but still nice. Had them on my ride before the Delteq with no problems. So its really a matter of personal choice and how much you have to spend.

Money is no object (unless we're talking hundreds of dollars)

Not to hijack - how long do the TR55's last (I have them now) VS the stock Platinums or Newer Iridium plugs?

Re: Tune up time, what plugs/wires should I get?

taylors are supposed to be good, but my 2 month old set started arcing to the block, to the headers, and too the ac lines. That pissed me right off! So I went with MSD, and they work awesome. But, now I am gonna go with elitesparkplugs.com wires, as they have the otvc kind I want. Just buy from someone with good customer service like I did. Summit has warrentied me 1 taylor set and two msds... for some reason I can't seem to keep the spark inside the damn wires.

Re: Tune up time, what plugs/wires should I get?

maybe im the exception rather than the rule, but ive been running taylor 8mm in the stock location w/ uncoated mac headers for the last 2 years and have never had a problem with them.

as for plugs, i am running the tr-55's gapped to 0.05". They are going to get swapped out for TR6's next season.

I had problems with all the aftermarket wires and went back to AC Delco. No problems in over a year.

Sorry to hear that. No sense in telling you what you could have had now.

I did notice it would have been easy to spend $500 on plugs and wires, which in the case of my relatively stock car; is ridiculous. So I guess money was an object to an extent.

So I take it you disapprove of my purchase?
