Tube From Back of Intake to Exhaust???
Tube From Back of Intake to Exhaust???
What is it? What does it do? I want to remove it, do I just plug both ends and go from there? Is there something I need to do in the PCM program to make it not throw a code or something?
that is the all mighty EGR (Exhaust Gas Recircultation). You can remove it, but then you will need to block off the intake and exhaust side with plates. You have OBD1 so you will not throw a code, obd2 will.
thats your EGR tube. , right next to it is a vacumm activated valve that lets in exhaust gas. There was a big write up about it about a week ago. You wil need 3 block off plates to completely remove it. As for throwing a code it depends if you have OBD1 or OBD2.
Here is a pic of the back of the intake with the two block off plates installed after I removed my EGR system. You need one more just like the small one on the right to block off the hole in the exhaust manifold. I made the one on the right and the one for the exhaust. The big one on the left I bought from the dealer for like $6.

Greg,
Do you know which hoses you plugged on the side of the intake? Or is it just the ones associated with the EGR pump?
