Trying to get rid of the ABSinop light and the brake light from BCM what wires
Ok, I was reading on here how to get rid of some of the dash lights and someone said for the airbag light to cut the BCM brown wire located in slot B1 and then someone said to get rid of the ABS light to cut wire B2. Anyways, I cut B1 and B2 on the BCM and the ABS inop light and brake light are still on but the airbag light is gone. Does anyone know how to get rid of the brake and absinop light. Also, does anyone know which wire is for the SES light. Thanks for any help
Ok, you have a 1995, correct? And people are telling you to cut wires at the BCM? A 1995 does not even have a BCM, so no telling what wires you have cut.
Sounds like you were cutting wires in the DERM. The next one you cut may blow an air bag in your face. I would be careful.
If you want to get rid of a brake light due to unequal pressure issues because of the hybrid rear, just unplug the connector at the brake combo valve under the hood on the side of the ABS.
There are several things that can cause a brake light, so if it is something else, you will have to take other measures.
Both the lights pass through the large connector under the dash, to the left of the steering wheel. The longest, skinny connector is connector "A". A5 should be a tan/wht wire that goes to the brake indicator. Even if you cut it there, a splice between there and the cluster will still allow the lamp to take input from the parking brake switch.
A3 is a lt grn wire that goes to the ABS indicator. Removing that connection should isolate the lamp.
I don't advocate cutting wires in the harness, just providing some info.
