i as well have had the dreaded hesitating and miss when at idle or at a certian speed but what no one has seemed to have like mine is that at 5 grand i have i guess you could call a back fire.. its like it hits a govenor. and basically it back fires through the plenum like a firecracker goin off and i dont mean one pop i mean like a machine gun. lets see I have changed the Opti (cap button and distributor), wires, plugs, coil,
going to switch MAF sensors with some one (i think it has burn the maf), goin to take off the egr. takin off the air pump. lucky i dont yank out the comp... i have had this problem for between 2 and a half and 3 yrs. has its good days and its bad ones... It ran a 14.11@97.0 mph while back firing into second at 5,500 rpm. she shifts at 6 and the rev limitor is set a 6300 rpm. i ahev had the engine apart al the way down to the point where a cam swap should have been done.. all wires are good, all vacume lines are good when she is on she is a bad *** when she is sick she is like a dead duck... I have a friend who hase a 94z that is runnin 12.6 before he installs his super charger, so hopefully if he could do all that we can figure this ol girl out....

i will let you all know what i figure out, becuase every one has or will at one time have this problem. it has to be easier then goin to a dealer ship for a $1000 here and $500 there... if you have any ideas let me know.....

has anny body had to change the inner workin of the opti, the part that comes off of the engine. the part that turns the opti. could there be a problem there. somethin to do with the round wheel with all the little whole.. its hard to describe....
