Question True WS-6 Verification

Hey fellas! I'm new to the boards here, but am looking to purchase a WS-6 in the coming weeks. I've got two that I've made some calls on, but I just want to make sure that they're true WS-6's, as I know it's quite easy to throw on a hood and some wheels. Is there a certain way I can check either by the VIN or in the doorjamb? Thanks guys!

The VIN won't tell you, but you will see WS6 on the RPO sticker which is either on the doorjamb or in the glovebox.

You can also post in a forum on the SLP board the VIN # and they will tell you if it is a WS6 or not, since they did the 96 and 97 WS6. If it is they will tell you the build # and date I think.

This is not 100% true.. it is true they built them.. but they did not keep track of them all.

Check the RPO sticker (Typically on the drivers door) and look for the WS6 code, if it's there it's a true WS-6, only true way to tell.

Built between 96-97, I dont think much chaned on them, other than regular Firebird stuff, like the digital odo in 97. That sort of thing.

On the Bird side Firehalws were the only "Ram Airs", 93-94s are prety much the same, the changes made were prety much the same changes on all LT1s, going over to speed density. In 95 they changed the wheels on the Firehawk to Speed lines, no longer were they made by Ronal, so different wheels. Also the same mechanical changes of it being vented opti also aplies to the Hawk as it does all Lt1s of that year.
