True duals

Is there a difference between LT1 TD's and LS1 TD's?? I want to get True duals for my 97 to go along with Pacesetter long tubes. I didn't know if there was a difference in where they bolt up to the headers or not.

Re: True duals

Yeah they are different. I think the driver side on the LS1 dual has a kink in it that the lt1's don't. Don't quote me on anything here, but I know they are different.

Re: True duals

Where are some good places to get LT1 TD's then?? I'm new to the LT1 world and don't know that many places then. All the ones that I look on the regular sites say 98-02 even when you click on LT1 exhaust.

Re: True duals

Buy the Summit or Jegs universal kit with an X pipe, your choice of mufflers (Bullets or Spiral flows would be best for space and sound), and have a muffler shop tweak it to fit your headers. Also, get some band clamps to use on the header collectors. They seal great and make it a snap to remove the system should you ever need to.

That's kind of what I've been leaning towards. I know a couple good fab guys so it shouldn't cost me all that much.

Thanks

Re: True duals

Ground clearance is barely affected if the guy doing the work knows what he's doing, even on a 3" setup.

I have 3" true duals run out the back under the axle and ground clearance is fine, I haven't bottomed out the exhaust once.
