It is cheaper to get true duals than most catbacks. Most people use dynomax bullets that are about $35 a piece out of summit. The x-pipe cost about $100-150. And all pipe and install of everything is about $100-200. I paid under $350 for parts and labor for my true duals, and $300 for my Headers installed in case you where wondering. I used 2 1/2 inch instead of 3inch to keep the noise down and I think it is perfect. Had it almost a year and it is not annoying at all. Borla XR-1 are nice mufflers but are about $150 a piece and I did see flowmaster has a new round muffler but not sure on the price but they proably sound good. There is a problem with them scrapign but just watch what you are doing. My car is stock height in the picture. So I say go for it and dont look back. Page 4

I have 2.5" true duals with bullets that dump before the axle. All together about $250.00 for everything from the collector back. There are pics on page 2 of the website in my sig.

I also went the Bullets route. 2.5" x pipe and piping into 3" Bullets. Cost me $210 for Bullets, x pipe, piping, and labor. I have turndowns before the axle. You can see some pictures on my cardomain site although I wasn't able to get any on the lift, but the pictures are still o.k.

Either will fine. I went with 2.5" pipe and then went up to 3" bullets. I didn't want full 3" exhaust. Might be overkill.

2.5" true duals = 3.5" cat-back

3" true duals = 4" cat-back

Here is a video of my car. I've got 3" true duals w/o an h pipe or x pipe into 2 purple horny mufflers with 3" turndows.

I was in the same situation you are in.

I went and bought Jet-Hot LT's. 2 1/2" Reducer, (2) 12'' Long 2 1/2" Bullet mufflers, and a 2 1/2'' turndown. Had a speed inc install it all. They did plugs and wires at the same time. And removed my AIR&EGR for me, and edited the pcm acordingly.

Car sounds and performs great. Here are some pics of the setup. Im going to probably try to get a sound clip this weeked. Wish me luck.

A couple of my vids in my sig. I went with 2.5 also. It will support well over 5-600hp and i have better ground clearance. Why not eh? I said to myself why go 3in if you dont need it.

so are bullets round mufflers or are bullets the brand name? i really don't want to have a big muffler like the borla XR-1 or whatever it was....just something smooth and sounds damn good, and a lil HP doesn't hurt either

You'll need either an X pipe or H pipe. The exhaust shop should be able to make one for you. You could run straight pipes out, but I dunno, I like the sound of my X pipe. Dynomax are the makers of Bullets. Dynomax Bullets are just round "mufflers" with nothing inside them. They are shaped like glasspacks. You'll get a little gain in HP and I guarantee it will sound "damn good".
