Question True Duals

I'll soon be getting the Jet Hot Coated LongTube Headers, and I want to get a true dual system fabricated and installed at a local custom exhaust shop since I would have to get a new y-pipe and everything anyway. Well anyway, I've read that a few of you out there have a true dual system on your cars, and I just want a little input. I know these f-bodies are really really low and I dont want to scrape my exhaust on every speed bump that I go over. My system will consist of a cat and resonator on each pipe. I will get 02 simulators for the rear two o2 sensors. My only questions are....I dont need an x-pipe or anything do I? What size pipes should be used? Anything I should be concerned about or watch out for? Thanks!

X pipes are great, giving better performance, but if your concerned about clearances, than I would stay away from the X, the torque arm gets in the way causing the X to hang slightly lower on the left side. No you don't need one, just gives slightly more power. You will have to stop or slow at speed bumps, even my stock exhaust scraped on them. I usualy go slow as possible, and then I don't scrape at all. If you plan on huge power, than go with 3 inch, 2.5 is plenty big and will support at least 450 horsepower

It will be harder with LT's I suppose. I have shorties, which allowed me to place my X pipe underneath my pass. side seat and bend the pipe to the middle of my car. Haven't scraped one single time.
