true dual setup done.......and first burnt wire

I had my headers on for a week and decided they were too loud without anything behind them, so i took it to the shop and had my bullets and cats welded up. The pipes are both coming out the passenger side in front of the tire, almost like the 2000 mustang cobra Rs. So I drove it home, bottoming out on very bump i hit, but sounding great, and as I was pulling into my development, I heard the noise I had been waiting for since the headers went in. My first spark plug wire was burnt. It was pretty bad, but luckily i have a spare set of wires in my room that will go in tomorrow.

Anyone else have the problem of burning wires on the #3 primary on jet hot longtubes?

You need to route the wires better, I have Jet Hot coated Hooker LTs and MSD superconductors routed without OVC and I have about 7 to 8 thousand on them and not one burnt wire, the boots are even still perfect... routing is the key.

how did you route the #5 wire so that it didnt touch the #3 and #5 primaries. I dont see a way to run it so that it is not touching?

the 5 and 7 wires on my car do come up over the top like OVC but I use zip ties to keep them out of harms way.
the rest are routed underneath...

I had the problem w/ #5 wire. So I routed my #5 wire down along the oil pan, then up the side of the engine, so it comes up from behind the 5th primary. It's not visible on top of the engine, so it looks great. You just have to order a plug wire repair kit from thunderracing, and a crimper tool if you have one. The wire is just a little bit longer than the regular #5 wire, and no burnt wires.

I fixed the problem this morning. I had an extra set of stock wires laying around, so I just used the spare #7 wire for the #5 plug because it was longer. I routed it out of the way of the header very easily with the extra length.

This is only a temporary setup until I can afford a set of OVC wires, so as long as it works, its good for me.

Thanks guys,

Paul
