How loud is it in your car?

I am kind of worried about how loud it is going to be in my car?

And if it is worth it to point the pipes straight back instead of at the floor?

I heard that angling it towards the ground isn't the best way to get a good sound.

Re: True Dual Dump Owners...

My friend just got true duals with magnaflow mufflers and its not any louder than my hooker catback. I'm going to go with an exhaust setup like that when I got some money, it's the best sounding F-body tha I have heard.

I like my setup a lot but it is a little on the loud side. Inside and outside the car. I was considering the Magnaflow mufflers too but then the bulletts were $35 a piece from Summit so I couldnt argue with that.

Re: True Dual Dump Owners...

You could always get some collector disks. They are just inserts you put into the exhaust. They dont really hinder the flow of exhaust. They may give you a 2-3 crank hp difference. They greatly reduce the sound. You could always just use cats. They dont slow the flow too much.

Re: True Dual Dump Owners...

There are days it is loud.........and then there are days it's not loud enough. Don't ask me why. Maybe somedays I'm more deaf then others (from listening to a loud exhaust ) I would not quieten my down any, I like it. I think you'd be happier trying it and not liking it than not trying it and wondering what it would have been like. You can always change.

Re: True Dual Dump Owners...

How much difference in sound you think they'll be from doing...

Side Exits
Angled Dumps
Or Looking straight back (Behind the Axle)

Using all the same length in pipe, just different directions.

Re: True Dual Dump Owners...

Side exits are generally the loudest while driving as the sound reflects back at the side windows & you will hear more in-car

Undercar dumps are usually loudest, often making a disturbing interior resonance when moving slowly or stopped. They are often quieter at highway speed than the side exits.... these may be illegal in your area if they do not exit the side of the car. You can lessen the noise if angling them toward each other at a 45deg angle. This cancels some of the noise pulses.

The rear exit (to the bumper) will be the quietest in the car & also most likely annoy the person behind you.

Mine with all my mods are not loud at all, I can hear the passenger, if I had one, Just do it. Make that you take the dumps back to the rear, that will help keep the inside noise down, but you know the old saying " if its too loud your to old"

Re: True Dual Dump Owners...

I now have pacesetter longtubes 2.5" x-pipe setup with dynomax 18" dumps and I love the way it sounds I get no drone while crusing and it is not loud at all on the inside. It has a very deep tone to it. This is also my daily driver.

Do you have dumps? How do you have them set? Whats the full setup?

I was just thinking about aiming the exhaust straight back and not facing them at a 45 degree angle towards the ground. I always have music on and usually have a passenger.
