True Dual Dump Owners...

How LOUD is your exhaust outside and in the car?

I am going to go Pacesetter LTs, X Pipe, and dual GMMG Mufflers with a dump before the axle...

I know it'll be loud in the car. But i'm curious how loud it'll be in the car when i'm on the way cruising at 60mph in 6th gear?

It shakes the mirrors on the cars next to me. I also throw it in neutral whenever I pass a trooper on the highway

Re: True Dual Dump Owners...

What about driving around normally?

What kind of setup do you have?

In the car, is it just unbearable? I don't race around to much. Plus, I usually shift at like 2-2 1/2k when driving around. Just want my car to sound nasty but be somewhat bearable in the damn car!! hahaha

Re: True Dual Dump Owners...

I had dumps on my car once and I had to yell for my passengers to hear me, but yes you will shake every building/car next to you. I would acually try to get threw my gears faster.. because as the rpms are rising, the thats when it's so loud. Keeping a constant speed isn't to bad though. I don't recommend it for a daily driven car, but a weekend or track type thing is cool.

Re: True Dual Dump Owners...

Ever been in a car with an open cutout? Figure a little louder than that. Thats what has kept me from going true duals. If I do ever do the true duals they will go out the back.

Re: True Dual Dump Owners...

oh man... that is scary... because this is my daily driven car. I guess i'm going to have to suck it up until I get the relocation bracket and have it exit the rear...

You think it'll THAT LOUD just slowly revving to 2k?

Re: True Dual Dump Owners...

My friend has ans LS1 with LT's straight into an x-pipe dumped before the axel, no mufflers or anything, just straight to the dumps. It was actually much quieter than I thought it would be on the inside. Seemes about the same as my pacesetters-ORY-loudmouth. Or maybe I'm going deaf

Re: True Dual Dump Owners...

i have the same setup your thinking of minus the GMMG mufflers, and honestly i would have to say that it isnt that loud as people say. i had a borla catback and it was annoying, then i had an OEM LS1 muffler and it was too quiet, so i got a cutout and it was too f*cking loud. talk about unbearable, sometimes i wouldnt drive it because it was so loud. now that i have x-pipe/bullets/dumps it really sounds nice and toned down, but it has a strong distinct sound to it. what i like about it is after i installed it the SOTP feel on the top end was stronger. but to each his own

I have Pacesetter ORY Hooker Catback and a cutout, and it was plenty loud, like.. holding the clutch when I pass a cop for fear of a ticket, but where I live the cops have nothing better to do than pull over minor traffic violators

Re: True Dual Dump Owners...

its not as bad as everyone is making it out to be. it is by no means quiet, but is definitely tolerable. i have several cop friends that say they think the exhaust sounds kick *** and that they wouldnt pull someone over with this setup (edit: provided your not romping on it when you go by them. normal driving is fine though). no louder than some of the monster trucks that go running around here. i have bullets also, so this may be a limited perspective view point for the exhaust setup that your looking into. however, if they are anything similar in loudness, i would say its fine. and mine is a daily driver.

another thing to consider: just depends on how tolerable you are towards a louder car. i have a very high tolerance, been around them all my life. might also be why i dont mind it as much.

Mine is so loud at idle with dynomax bullets that it shakes the dash of the car behind me.

Here is a vid:

Re: True Dual Dump Owners...

Everyones definition of loud is a bit different, but plan on it rattling the inside of your car and making it difficult to hear the people you are talking to your cell phone.

Re: True Dual Dump Owners...

I have the same setup that you are talking about. It droans just about as bad as my old flowmaster(droans alot i think) but it is much louder when you get on it. At first it is annoying and you do have to talk louder than normal to make other hear you, but i have gotten used to it and its not to loud now. Check my sig for pics.

Definetly do it cause it sound downright awsome ive had so many compliments. But beware of speed bumps and steep drive ways...i scrape if there is 2 other people in the car and i hit only a small bumb, but then again my shocks have 110,000 miles on them. And i do think that an x-pipe would be a little lower than mine, but i plan on redoing the pass side cause i messed up a weld and that is the lowest side.

list
Corvette chambered mufflers
hedman header extensions from summitthat had to have one of them lenghtened.
and turn downs that came as an option with my sister's chevelle's american thunder system.

Re: True Dual Dump Owners...
