Trouble Code 26???

I have a 93 formula, and it is throwing a code. I took it to advanced auto parts to scan it and it came up with this:

Current Code 26
Quad Driver Module
(QDM) A Fault

I know my car has a cracked manifold. Im not 100% on what this code is telling me. Could anyone enlighten me? Does it have to do with the cracked exhaust manifold?

Thanks in advance...

Re: Trouble Code 26???

Use the code list on Shoebox's website... it will give you the full info.

http://shbox.com/1/Dtcs.htm

Quad-Driver Module (QDM) #1 circuit
applies to:
- AIR pump relay circuit
- EGR solenoid
- EVAP solenoid

You have an electrical circuit problem with one of the devices listed, or the "module" in the PCM that drives those three circuits has died.

Re: Trouble Code 26???

Where is this circuit located? so it has nothing to do with the manifold being cracked. The code doesn't appear until after the car is warmed up... so i figured it had something to do with the smog pump/emmissions system. Could the computer be thinking that the smog system is still pumping because of the air entering the cracked manifold after the car is warmed up? what should i do to fix it?

Re: Trouble Code 26???

The codes are purely for electrical problems. The fuse could be blown in the AIR pump relay circuit. Check that out. The relay could be bad. That's in the under hood fuse/convenience box.

The EGR solenoid is on the back of the intake manifold, the EVAP purge solenoid is on a bracket on the passenger side of the intake.

i could just have the whole thing bypassed with some tuning right? if i had someone delete the egr/emmissions system, that would also get rid of the code correct?

Re: Trouble Code 26???

Would seem a lot easier just to track down which one of the three is giving you a problem, and fix it.

EGR helps reduce the potential for detonation when lugging the engine, the EVAP system helps recover vapor from the fuel tank so it can be burned in the engine to make power rather than throwing it away, and the area around the fuel tank may stink of fuel if you eliminate the EVAP system.
