I would not let those headers beat you yet. Sounds like he took the oil cooler off, did not need too but not that hard to put back on.
I had my tranny out when I did my Hooker LTs (I already had em but with the tranny out for rebuild I thought the headers would go in easier) and I removed the top of the steering linkage, oil filter, and obviously the #1 primary off and the header went right in. Passenger side was even easier, just removed the starter.
You might need to jack the motor up with the tranny still in the car, I did not jack the motor up at all.
Sounds like you are in the home stretch so don,t give up yet.
LTs are a pain in the butt to install and trust me I don,t think there is one person on this board that did it all in one day.
I worked on mine for 3 to 4 hrs a nite for a week solid (I did it all myself though) so don,t get discouraged yet.

that is an oil cooler, my older brothers94 T/a has one on it. We installed my hooker lt's on my camaro, it did not have one. we got under his car shortly after he bought it and we noticed those lines right in the way for the longtube install??? I figured it would have to go when the Lt's come.

That would be my 94 TA. Definately don't get discouraged just yet. You will absolutely love LTs as soon as you get them installed. My oil cooler is going to come out with the Hooker Longtubes going in. Good luck and have a bud light

Well i have come to the conclusion what has broken was on the oil cooler but it is like a black plug in on it. He just ripped it off. So i should just take the whole oil cooler out how hard is that to do??

I've come to the conclusion that alot of these guys who complain about the header installs on the LT1 have never done one on any car. I've done more header installs than you can shake a stick at, on all types of car. One thing was common. NONE were "easy". Even an easy header install can take you a day. On my LT1 I spent the evening tearing everything apart, then the next day me and a buddy attacked it. He had to leave for work about 1pm and I just finished all the details. Yea it was tough but header installs are often tough. BTW I took off everything that was in the way (rather than try to "save time" by working around them). I also unbolted the motor and jacked it as high as it would go-THAT'S the key to doing the install.

What is involved in jacking up the motor?

True!!
You learn nothing by giving up.

Although I understand your pain and frustration, you should of at least stayed and watched how they did it.
