Trick Flow intake elbow....any good?

Apon removing my intake elbow today to access a plug and wire change I noticed quite a bit of dirt and grime in the throttle body. I inspected the elbow and found that the bottom part of it got folded under and ripped. So I need a new one. Just wondering if anyone has had good success from TF's intake elbow. I planned on getting the ceramic coated one from Summit for $90 bux. If anyone knows where I can get one cheaper, or knows of a better one let me know.

I have the same one you're looking to buy. Its not a real performance upgrade, I just figured I'd replace my ripped one with one that will not tear. In my opinion, its better than the Vortech elbow, because there's no divider in the Trick Flow. I like it, I'd recommend it to anyone looking to replace an old, worn out one. I wouldn't recommend it to someone looking for performance gains.

Exactly what he said, my friend put one on his 95Z just for the looks. If you have a vented opti you will have to drill a small hole in the side of it so you can put your vent tube in there, and the drill but that they said was supposed to work, wasn't big enough if I recall correctly. I got a bit that looked close and went with it.

I have a K&N CAI and stock MAF. Do you think I'll have to cut anything? Also I wasn't really looking for performance gains. I just need to replace mine and I figure a flashy aftermarket replacement would look nice. Thanks for the info guys. Any place you know of to get it cheaper than Summit?

We didn't have to modify anything, it was a direct bolt in, so to speak, the car had a K&N FIPK on it, I don't know if the SLP is different or not.

Nope. I have the stock MAF and K&N. You'll need to cut a little off of the rubber sleeves they give you. But nothing off of the actual elbow. I don't know anywhere much cheaper than Summit.

I did it for looks, not performance. You won't see any gains out of it, but man, it looks sharp under the hood.

The elbow or the CAI has to be cut if you have a SLP CAI.(I recomend cutting the CAI, as the elbow is a lot thicker.) Other than that the only thing I can complain about is the supplied clamps. If you do any work that requires moving the elbow the clamps will strip. You may want to "invest" in other clamps I got some from Home Depot that were like 1.79 and worked 10x better than the ones Trick Flow sent.

I'm happy with mine. I have a K&N CAI and Granatelli MAF, and the Trickflow elbow fit perfect.

I've got the trick flow elbow and moroso cai, had to cut a little over an inch off the moroso to make everything fit right.

Other than that the elbow is great, no more worries about cracks, rips, etc. Now I worry about scratching it...
