Trick Flow heads and Edelbrock LT4 intake
Trick Flow heads and Edelbrock LT4 intake
Ok fella's. This isn't the typical question about the swap. I just received my TFS heads from Advanced Induction. I got the full CNC version. Very nice! I was wanting to put the Edelbrock LT4 intake on the new setup. I talked to Ron at AI and he said the TFS' are made for the Felpro 1284 intake gasket (LT1). If I wanted to run the LT4 intake instead of the LT1 version which intake gasket would I use? the 1284, or a set of LT4's. Would I even benefit from using an LT4 intake on these heads, or am I better off throwing more money into machining an LT1 intake, and if so what would be better the Edelbrock or stock. I have three stockers laying around. Thanks for any help guys, Rob.
if AI only ported the heads to fit an LT1 gasket then you need an LT1 intake.
My TFS heads were ported by TEA, 220cc's and the intake gasket I used is the LT4 race gasket. It depends on how they CNC's the ports. AI said use an LT1 intake then use the LT1 intake and gasket.
BTW, your choice is if you want to use a stock GM part of the new Edelbrock intake...

Yeah, I was doing some research and found out what I needed to know. I'm just gonna stick with my stock intake for now. It's already been port matched to a set of Felpro 1284's. I think I'll find something else to spend $400 on. I knew I shoulda had AI port match the heads to an LT4 race gasket. Oh well, I'm not gonna touch these heads. They're perfect just the way they are. The Edelbrock LT4 intake already comes ported for LT4 heads, unlike a GM LT4 intake, so it wont work right on LT1 style ports. Thanks, Rob.
